The Afro-Asian Cup was a football competition contested between the winners of the AFC Asian Cup and the CAF Africa Cup of Nations.
It was held intermittently between 1985 and 2007. The competition was discontinued after the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) severed ties with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in 2008.
The most successful team in the competition was Saudi Arabia, who won the cup twice. Other winners include Cameroon, Egypt, Iran, and Japan.
The cup was played in a two-legged format, with each team hosting one match. In some editions, if the aggregate score was tied after the second leg, a penalty shootout would determine the winner.
